H.E. Jos Douma
Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia and Armenia.
H.E. Mr. Jos Douma (61) was appointed as Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia and Armenia in September 2015. He moved to Tbilisi having completed his term in office as Dutch Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Before Tehran, Mr. Douma served as Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Slovenia and briefly as a Chargé d’Affaires to the Holy See.
Mr. Douma’s career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands started in 1980 and includes postings in Harare, Lagos, Bonn and Moscow as well as in the Ministry in The Hague, where, among other positions, he has worked as head of Matra program (Programme for Social Transformation in Central and Eastern Europe) and Head of Central Europe Department.
Mr. Douma is historian by education. He is married to Mrs. Aleid Bolhuis and has four children.
